I started a new job last week and the focus on trying to learn a new position had me a little distracted. I will be back up and running more soon. But for now here's the TED Talk for the week:
Laura Trice is a counselor with a very fascinating idea. Hope this short little blurb makes you think ;)
I'm not sure how comfortable i am with the idea of telling people that i want them to thank me for certain things. But i see a challenge of being more open with your close friends as a good thing. So maybe it's not telling people to thank you, but something else that you need to do to take a step of faith in your friends.
For me, i'll admit that my lack of self-esteem makes it hard to open up in general. I feel like i'm too needy, or overly emotional and feel bad for sharing with people how i feel. Thankfully i have some wonderful friends that don't let me get away with that and have slowly helped me step out of that comfort zone and tell them how i feel.
So what about you? What do you need to to do to step out of your bubble and engage in deeper friendships?
